Yacht charter in Thailand — frequently asked questions

Is yacht.day a charter operator or a booking platform?

Yacht.day is an independent booking platform that aggregates verified yacht operators across every destination we cover. We do not own the boats — we vet each operator for licensing, insurance, safety standards and customer reviews, then publish one transparent price with no hidden commissions.

Do I need a license or sailing experience?

No. Every charter on yacht.day comes with a licensed captain and certified crew. You do not need a boating license, sailing experience, or any documentation beyond a valid passport (plus a visa if your destination requires one).

What is typically included in the charter price?

Standard inclusions across most destinations: professional captain and crew, fuel, snorkeling gear, drinking water, soft drinks, towels and safety equipment. Premium charters often add meals, alcoholic beverages, watersports toys (SUP, kayak, seabob) and chef-prepared menus. The exact inclusions are listed on each yacht's booking page.

What's the difference between half-day, full-day and overnight charters?

Half-day is roughly 4 hours, full-day around 8 hours, and overnight charters span one or more nights with the boat anchored at scenic spots. Overnight is only available on yachts with cabins. Pricing scales with duration and includes all crew time.

How do prices and currencies work across countries?

Each yacht or tour is denominated in the official currency of the country in which it operates. The price is displayed in that native currency by default, and the user may select an alternative display currency via the currency switcher in the header, in which case the displayed amount is indicative and non-binding. All financial settlements between the Company and its banking counterparties are effected exclusively in Thai Baht (THB); any cross-currency conversion at the payment stage is handled by the user's bank or card network.

How far in advance should I book?

For mid- and high-season weeks (December–April in most tropical destinations), book 4–8 weeks in advance, especially for larger yachts and catamarans. Off-season and shoulder weeks usually have availability 1–2 weeks out. Peak holiday weeks (Christmas, New Year, Lunar New Year) often sell out 2–3 months ahead.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Standard cancellation policy: full refund if cancelled more than 14 days before departure, 50% refund 7–14 days before, no refund within 7 days. Weather-related cancellations by the captain (for safety) are always fully refunded or rescheduled at no cost. Per-yacht terms are listed on each booking page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and cryptocurrency (USDT TRC-20) globally, together with local methods in selected markets (including Thai PromptPay in Thailand). Settlement is effected in Thai Baht (THB); any currency conversion required to charge your card is performed by the user's bank or card network.
